Monza 1-4 SSC Napoli Match Report

Napoli moved to a convincing 4-1 win at Monza on Serie A matchday nine, with the visitors pulling clear after a tight first half.

Rasmus Højlund opened the scoring on 10 minutes, finishing left-footed from Giovanni Di Lorenzo's pass. Monza responded before the break, Gonzalo Varela heading in Jack Robinson's cross on 43 minutes to send the sides in level at 1-1.

Napoli took control early in the second half. Matteo Politano scored with a left-footed effort on 48 minutes, then turned provider on 62, crossing for Rafa Marín to head home the third. Kevin De Bruyne, brought on at 63 minutes, added the fourth on 67 with a right-footed finish from Noa Lang's pass.

Monza's night was further soured by yellow cards for Saba Goglichidze, M. Foe Ondoa and Lorenzo Colombo, while coach Ivan Jurić was also booked. Napoli had replaced Stanislav Lobotka with Billy Gilmour after 17 minutes.

The result leaves Monza with a heavy home defeat on matchday nine, while Napoli take the three points from a dominant display in which they held 65 per cent of possession.
